Meet our committee candidates

I am proud to stand for election as Club President, bringing a proven track record of leadership and extensive competitive experience to the role. Having previously served on the committee as Club Captain, I understand what it takes to lead effectively and represent our community.

Over the past five years, I have actively competed at club, state, national and international IPSC matches. Beyond competing, I am deeply involved in running our events, having served as Match Director for multiple Level 2 matches and the IPSC Queensland State Titles.

True leadership is about giving back. Recently, I launched a free weekly training session on Friday evenings to bridge the gap between our top-tier and developing shooters. I believe it is vital for our members to have direct access to competitors in Master and Grand Master grades who are eager to share their knowledge, skills and match experience.

My vision is simple: a club run by the members, for the members. If elected, I will lead a committee focused on delivering real outcomes that benefit active participants, strengthen our community and drive initiatives that help our club grow.

I was previously Vice President for two years, and I’ve been involved in running many IPSC matches. With a lot of help, I’ve built Steel Challenge from three or four people meeting occasionally on a Sunday morning to more than 40 weekly competitors, with practice sessions on Saturday afternoons and Monday evenings.

I believe our Club should be volunteer-run, with substantial, empowered member involvement. We can do much better by working together, supported by more open communication.

I am an aerospace engineer with Boeing, with 35 years’ experience in the Defence Force and defence industry. I have held many sports club and social committee positions, including Treasurer with the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF).

I previously represented the RNZAF in clay-target skeet and trap competitions and have participated in IPSC and Steel Challenge for the past four years. My CoBPC volunteer contributions include serving as Quartermaster for two Queensland Level III State Titles, supporting numerous Level II matches, organising and promoting the 2025 Christmas fun match, managing club firearms for club competitions, assisting with PractiScore, range officiating and other general club duties.

My vision for the Club is a supportive club culture with members first, and shooting always.
